ABOUT ME

Born and raised in a small village in Austria I had a great childhood surrounded by love and picturesque scenery – think Sound of Music and that’s pretty much what it looks like where I come from. But before your mind wanders – NO, I don’t yodel! Money was never there in abundance but by working hard, not spending over their means and resourceful use of what they had, my parents always managed to somehow make ends meet with enough left over for a treat here and there.

When I ventured to London in the mid 90s I started working as a personal assistant but soon changed careers to become a presentation specialist so I could have an outlet for my creative side. Life is good but it has had its struggles in the noughties, with all the upheaval and market crashes affecting everyone, and financial cuts had to be made in order to make the mortgage payments at times. But we all know what they say: When life gives you lemons ... add some vodka and make some Limoncello!

For the last 20 years I’ve called North London my home where I live in a typical 1930s terraced house with my husband of 10 years. We both share a sense of adventure and aren’t afraid to try new things, we love travelling, tasty food on the table (and a very large glass of white wine for me – I might as well come clean from the start) and good friends and family to share it with. We enjoy making memories together and by shaving off a little here and there on the necessities it allows us to take time out and spend quality time together and with our loved ones.

My blog offers a little insight into my life, what I get up to and some tips on making savings as well as just general chit-chat. I hope you enjoy reading my ramblings and maybe you can find something that connects with you and helps you to keep that piggy bank well fed so there is a little left over for the fun things in life.

Any comments or handy tips would be much appreciated, I look forward to your feedback and thanks for taking the time to stop by!
